The fleet mechanic with experience servicing trucks and construction equipment. The qualified mechanic should have the ability to inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot and repair. The individual should be skilled in the use of hand tools, welders, cutting torches, grinders and various other shop tools. The individual will need his/her own hand tools.

Applicants should have knowledge of engines, transmissions, clutches, brake systems and tires. Class A CDL and state inspection license are beneficial but not necessary. Must have a good work history.

Duties will include small engine (gas and diesel) maintenance and repair; welding and light fabrication; electrical and hydraulic systems, etc. Preventive maintenance scheduling and record-keeping are a vital part of being successful in this position.

This position is responsible for the maintenance and repair of our current fleet of 35 trucks, 15 pieces of construction equipment and 35 miscellaneous pieces of small equipment in conjunction with another mechanic. Success in this position is indicated by quick turnaround time and quality of work.

Preferred Qualifications
• Possess good communication and organizational skills.
• Demonstrate experience and abilities in the field of mechanics. Must have a completed degree or certificate with 2 years field experience or 5 years field experience if no degree
• Possess and maintain a valid Pennsylvania class A CDL license as well as state inspection license or the capacity to attain.
• Demonstrate ability to work on own.
• Self-starter with a positive attitude
• Possess and maintain own tools.

Primary Responsibilities
• Exhibit leadership and management abilities and execute shop work in a timely manner while maintaining a high degree of quality.
• Maintain current fleet of vehicles and equipment to a high standard.
• Perform PA state inspection on company fleet only.
• Maintain accurate records with respect to your duties.
• Order and maintain inventory.
• Further abilities by attending periodic updates and seminars.
