As a Mowing Foreperson, you would be responsible for managing people, equipment and materials in the field to complete assigned contract turf maintenance in a timely manner. The candidate will work with and lead a crew of up to 2 people in performing their duties. Success in this position is indicated by jobs whose contracts are renewed and jobs completed within the budgeted hours while still maintaining the highest degree of quality possible.

Education/Experience
• Have at least four (4) years of field experience with two (2) years of supervisory responsibilities or a degree in a horticulture related field of study.

Licenses
• A valid Pennsylvania driver’s license with the ability to operate a manual transmission vehicle.

Performance Responsibilities
• Willing to work outside in a variety of weather conditions (cold, hot, wet, etc.).
• Able to lift up to seventy (70) pounds.
• Ability to identify and diagnose insect and disease problems particularly in turf.
• Working knowledge of vehicles and equipment used in contract turf maintenance and snow removal.
• Adhere to daily schedules, carry out goals to be accomplished, and ensure quality and efficiency of production.
• Monitor quality of work by conducting site inspections both before and after the work is completed.
• Develop a clear understanding of budget hours for turf maintenance contracts and complete assigned responsibilities within those budgets.
• Develop a good relationship with the client on every job.

Preferred Certifications and Licenses
• Pesticide Applicators License
• Pennsylvania Certified Horticulturist (PCH)
